<a href="https://completelyretail.co.uk/scheme/Alexandra-Retail-Park-Grimsby">Alexandra Retail Park</a>, <a href="https://completelyretail.co.uk/shops-to-rent/grimsby?lat=53.567471&amp;lng=-0.080784&amp;n=53.60306424156686&amp;s=53.51602285843313&amp;e=-0.03152575843313328&amp;w=-0.15928634156686672&amp;name=Grimsby">Grimsby</a>'s largest retail park, has been sold to commercial property and investment company LCP, part of European investment operation M Core.



The retail park formerly owned by Zurich Assurance Ltd has 560 parking spots, spans 125,695 sq ft and houses popular national brands like Matalan, SCS, The Food Warehouse, <a href="https://news.completelyretail.co.uk/argos-plans-to-shut-100-stores-within-a-year/">Argos</a>, Pets at Home, and Poundstretcher.



The undisclosed transaction is part of LCP's proactive approach to acquiring properties within shopping parades, centers, and retail parks across the nation.



James Buchanan, Managing Director of LCP Group, stated; "Our team is diligently seeking out sites with potential for value enhancement, offering tenants good value, providing a positive local shopping experience, and ensuring a solid return on our investment."



Over the past year, M Core has invested over £160 million in 25 retail centers. Notable acquisitions include Cwmbran Centre, Cwmbran; The Galleries, Washington, Sunderland; and Three Spires in Lichfield. The firm remains active in the acquisitions market, with a budget of £300 million available for investments ranging from £500,000 to £30 million.



LCP has appointed agents Henry Phipps of Edgerley Simpson Howe and Duncan Wiley of PPH Commercial to oversee this venture.

North East Lincolnshire Council has invited local contractors to a drop-in session as it begins the next phase of its multi-million pound redevelopment of <a href="https://completelyretail.co.uk/shops-to-rent/grimsby">Grimsby's</a> <a href="https://completelyretail.co.uk/scheme/Freshney-Place-Shopping-Centre-Grimsby">Freshney Place</a>.



The council is organising the event alongside Morgan Sindall Construction, which is delivering the leisure scheme.



Contractors within the construction industry are invited to Grimsby Town Hall on July 7 between 9am and 3pm to discuss the developments.



The discussions will mostly focus on the Freshney Place leisure and market redevelopment, however there will be opportunities to hear about other construction projects and potential future work.



North East Lincolnshire Council leader, councillor Philip Jackson, said: "There is a real desire to involve as many people as possible to come along and see the opportunities that may be open to them as this really significant scheme moves forward.



"We have been highly successful in winning millions of pounds in Government funding to ensure the reinvention of our town centre is successful and we are on our way to achieving that. If you are a relevant contractor then please go along and find out how you may be able to be a part of the journey", he added.



The redevelopment of the western end of Freshney Place will include the construction of a new market hall, a 5-screen cinema operated by Parkway Cinemas, and other leisure facilities.



It is hoped the development will complement the shopping centre's existing retail offer.



A successful £20m bid from North East Lincolnshire Council to the second round of the Government's Levelling Up Fund has provided financial support for the project.



Ben Hall, Morgan Sindall Construction’s Area Director, has previously said that he believes the scheme will be a "real game-changer" for Grimsby.
