<a href="https://completelyretail.co.uk/scheme/castlepoint-shopping-park-bournemouth-2178">Castlepoint Shopping Park</a> in <a href="https://completelyretail.co.uk/shops-to-rent/bournemouth">Bournemouth</a> has celebrated a bumper festive period, having recorded an increase in footfall in the run-up to Christmas.



During the four weeks to 28 December, visitor numbers to the scheme were up by 46% compared to the same period the year prior. This built on the growth in footfall in November, which saw numbers increase by 22% compared to 2022.



The scheme benefitted from the arrival of a trio of big brands arriving in 2023, with Holland &amp; Barrett, Hotel Chocolat, and <a href="https://news.completelyretail.co.uk/nike-unite-to-join-bournemouths-castlepoint/">Nike</a> all opening at Castlepoint.



The shopping park also welcomed its first-ever Christmas market in 2023, Festive Point. Designed in collaboration with local business LED House, Festive Point featured a roller-skating rink, VR area, food and drink stalls, as well as a grotto experience. Festive Point is estimated to have welcomed over 16,000 visitors during the 18 days it was open.



Castlepoint celebrated its 20th birthday in 2023, which was celebrated with a number of community and charity efforts as well as a full rebrand for the scheme.



Castlepoint centre manager, David Pickett, said: “Well what a year to look back on and it certainly has been a merry Christmas here at Castlepoint. Our team has worked tirelessly to provide a special festive experience for our shoppers and we are so glad to have been rewarded with extraordinary uplifts in visitor numbers as families come in their thousands. 



“We are proud to be part of this wonderful community and look forward to making more improvements and enhancements in 2024, and hopefully launch some new stores too – watch this space! With the sales period now in full swing, there are some amazing discounts available at our 40+ brands.”



Castlepoint was acquired in autumn 2022 by the combined funds of Columbia Threadneedle and Delancy as part of a joint venture.

<a href="https://completelyretail.co.uk/scheme/Castlepoint-Shopping-Park-Bournemouth">Castlepoint</a> in <a href="https://completelyretail.co.uk/shops-to-rent/bournemouth">Bournemouth</a> has secured its third lease in recent weeks as it prepares to welcome Nike Unite.



The sportswear brand has signed for a 12,533 sq ft unit, with the news following the arrival of Holland &amp; Barrett and the recent upsizing of Mountain Warehouse to its largest UK store at the Bournemouth scheme.



Castlepoint was acquired last autumn by the combined funds of Columbia Threadneedle and Delancy as part of a joint venture.



A spokesperson on behalf of the joint venture owners of Castlepoint said: "Occupier interest in Castlepoint remains high and we are now carefully curating the tenant mix and working alongside our brands to maximise the offer and better meet consumer demand. It is clear operators have confidence in the scheme and we’re looking forward to exploring further opportunities as we move through the 2023 and beyond."

Nike Unite to join Bournemouth's Castlepoint

Lush has invested £2.3m into a circular recycling 'Green Hub' in the brand's hometown of <a href="https://completelyretail.co.uk/shops-to-rent/poole">Poole</a>.



The cosmetics retailer's new plant consists of 40,128 sq ft of industrial space at Fleets Corner Business Park.



Lush said that in 2022 its existing Green Hub operation had recycled 12 tonnes of PP plastic through its 'Bring it Back' scheme in which customers can return Lush packaging to stores in return for credit. The retailer also said it had recycled 15 tonnes of PET product moulds and 998 tonnes of manufacturing waste.



The hub is also home to a number of other Lush initiatives such as a woodshop to recycle and repurpose store furnishings, a repair and maintenance department for equipment, and a donations section in which surplus products are given to charity.



The retailer has also invested in a dissolved air unit to recycle waste water created in its spa laundry and manufacturing process. Lush said this will allow waste water to be reused within a circular economy.



Chase Clark, Lush manufacturing director, said: "At Lush, we are designing for zero waste. Our brand-new Green Hub at Fleets Corner allows us to close the loop on our packaging and water as we re-use, repurpose and repair materials, welcoming staff, and the community with open arms into the world of zero waste."



Galena Real Estate, JLL, Goadsby and CBRE acted for asset manager Federated Hermes on the deal.
