Shopping Centres located in Barnsbury

In the heart of Islington, Islington Square is a new mixed use development located on the site of the former Royal Mail North London Sorting Office. The scheme will provide 170,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space, in addition to 38,000sq ft of office and 292,000 sq ft of residential. A mixture of shops, cafes, restaurants, a health club and a boutique cinema will complement the existing retailers in the local area.

Up to 500,000 sq ft of retail space will be available. 160,000 sq ft of the retail offer is based in conservation areas and historic buildings and will attract a diverse range of eclectic stores, food ‘clusters’ and outdoor seasonal markets. A supermarket/concept store by Sainsbury’s is planned, whilst Michelin-starred restaurants and local cafés will ‘spill-out’ into the public realm. This adds to the 90,000 sq ft of retail and catering already open in St Pancras International Station.
