Seaway Leisure is a proposed mixed-use scheme includes a cinema anchored family leisure scheme, which totals 136,000 sq ft, and include a ten-screen multiplex at first floor and twelve restaurant units. A total of 500 car parking spaces are planned on site to replace the current 470 space surface car park.
The first three restaurant units have been pre-let to The Restaurant Group, which operates the Coast to Coast, Frankie & Benny’s and Chiquito restaurants. The cinema operator is due to be named shortly. The scheme is expected to generate around 450 jobs.
The site is located east of the High Street and next to the Royals Shopping Centre. The 2.3 hectare site, which is currently used as a surface car park, also benefits from being close to the sea front and the many of Southend’s leisure destinations.
