Description
Whiteley Shopping Centre is a £64 million development, comprising over 50 units, adjacent to an existing Tesco supermarket.
The scheme will comprise 320,000 sq ft of retail and leisure, anchored by a 60,000 sq ft Marks & Spencer and a 19,500 sq ft Next. Other pre-lets include H&M, Boots, JD Sports, Bank, Sports Direct, Frankie & Benny’s and Starbucks.
Featuring dramatic double height retail units with oak panelling, the scheme is centred around a new town square with high quality public realm, landscaped spaces and public art. The contemporary design makes use of natural materials, and incorporates extensive energy efficient and sustainability features. Whiteley will be the largest UK retail development to achieve the BREEAM excellent rating.
Centre is due to open May 2013.
Location
Whiteley is located in southern Hampshire just one mile from junction 9 of the M27, midway between the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton.

Predicted annual footfall of 7.5 million in Year 1. Core catchment of 1.2m residents with a higher than UK average ABC1 profile.
The Catchment extends as far north as Alton and down to the coast at Portsmouth in the south.
75% of trade is predicted to come from the Core Catchment, with a total population of 394,570 and a resident shopper population of 38,201.
This equates to a Market Share within the Core Catchment (primary and secondary) of 10.1 %, and a Primary Catchment Market Share of 16.6%.
